This year’s List ranges from Dairy Farmers of America Inc. at No. 1 with $15.9 billion in revenue to No. 150 MarksNelson LLC, which reported $28.11 million in revenue last year.
In between you’ll find many — if not most — of the companies that make the metro area’s economy go. The companies populating our Top 150 generated a combined $72.7 billion in revenue in 2019, with an average 10.66% increase for the 147 companies that also were on last year’s List.
Those companies employed about 50,000 people locally and about 95,000 overall. In the top 150, 40% of respondents are majority family-owned, 10% are employee-owned, almost 7% are majority women-owned, and about 7% are majority minority-owned.
And it should be noted that the expanded online version of this List includes 50-plus more companies that didn’t make the print version.
