Capital Commons is a new high-rise office building consisting of five levels of structured parking and four levels of office space for St. David's Foundation Headquarters. Tenant space is approximately 52,000 square feet, with St. David's Foundation occupying two levels of the office space. JE Dunn was additionally contracted to complete the tenant interior finishes for their two floors. The building consists of concrete (column, beam and floor) construction with stone veneer. The St. David’s Foundation building is located on a tight urban site surrounded by other developments and active pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Development was extremely tight both vertically and horizontally since the project was under regulations of the Capitol View Corridor. The design of the building maximizes the use of natural light, glass walls, and windows, which extend natural light into office interiors and throughout office spaces. The centrally located open stairwell which connects the two floors promotes physical activity and was intentionally designed to improve workplace health by encouraging walking vs. taking the elevators.
